This website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace collects personal data when you visit this website, including: information about your browser, network and device, web pages you visited prior to coming to this website and your IP address. This information may also include details about your use of this website, including: clicks, internal links, pages visited, scrolling, searches and timestamps. Squarespace needs the data to run this website and to learn about site traffic and activity as well as to protect and improve its platform and services. Squarespace analyses the data in a de-personalised form.  

This website uses cookies and similar technologies, which are small files or pieces of text that download to a device when a visitor accesses a website or app. This allows Squarespace, our hosting platform, to securely serve this website to you. The analytics and performance cookies are used on this site only when you acknowledge our cookie banner. 

Additionally, if you create a customer account, make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase on this website, your personal information is collected in order to improve our checkout experience and customer service. This information may include your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address and payment information (such as credit card number). This information might be shared with Squarespace, our website hosting provider, in order to provide website services to us. If you place an order with us, your order information might be maintained for our records, unless you ask us to delete this information.  

Iolair Yarn is committed to safeguarding your privacy. We do not share, sell or distribute any of the information you provided to us apart from for the purposes outlined above. We disclose your personal data to third parties or public officials only when we are legally obliged to do so.

Product:

Iolair Yarn is a small independent, one-person business, run by Solveigh Lass-Evans. Hand-dyed yarn is an artisan product, requiring time and is limited by its scale of production. Thus, each skein of hand-dyed yarn is unique and even skeins from one batch will have a slight colour variation. While this adds to the beauty and exclusivity of Iolair Yarn, please keep this in mind when ordering multiple skeins. Altering skeins is a good practice to achieve a blended effect. Iolair Yarn dye lots consist normally of 6 skeins (dyed in two pots/i.e. 3 skeins/pot) to ensure the yarn keeps its luxurious softness. If you would like to order more than 6 skeins of one particular colour shade for a larger project, please get in touch and I can see what I can do. Please also keep in mind, that shades might change from dye lot to dye lot – I therefore recommend you buy enough yarn for your project to ensure you do not run out of yarn half way through. If I can be of any help or you need advice, please get in touch.  

Yarn photos are for illustration only; done by me in daylight in my conservatory. While I try to ensure that the colour is presented as accurately as possible, my images might appear different on your screen and thus the skein you receive might differ slightly in appearance to the one you saw on this website.     

Payment, cancellations and returns:

Payment is made by PayPal (you don’t need to have an account with PayPal to pay). You will also have the option to pay with a credit card such as Visa, Mastercard and Maestro. This payment is highly secure – I will never see your credit card details.  

After you have placed your order, you should receive an invoice email with your order details. I aim to post the yarn within 3 working days. If, for some reason, your yarn delivery will be delayed, I will inform you by email. Please ensure that you enter the correct delivery address as I am not responsible if an incorrect address has been used – additional charges may apply for redelivering the order. I ship to UK, EU, Canada and United States addresses at present, but other International delivery should be available very soon. If you would like to order some yarn and your country is not added yet, please get in touch and I can see what I can do. At the checkout, you can choose Royal Mail 2nd class delivery (£3.10; <2kg), or Royal Mile Tracked 48: (£4.74; <2kg) for UK addresses, Royal Mail Standard delivery for EU addresses (depending on weight £5.35 to £12.85; <2kg) Royal Mail International Standard for Canada (depending on weight £7.35 to 23.95; and Royal Mail International Standard for the United States (depending on weight £9.84 to 29.71; <2kg). Please allow 10 days for delivery within the UK and 20 days for EU delivery. Delivery to the U.S. and Canada might take even longer. Should you not have received your order within this time, please get in touch and I will do my best to replace missing yarn or offer refunds.  

I am very proud of the quality of my yarn. However, I can understand that yarn might look and feel different in real life, so if you are not satisfied, I am happy to accept returns and issue refunds. If you would like to return yarn, please contact me within 14 days of receiving your yarn and yarn must be shipped back to me within 30 days of delivery. Please ensure that the yarn is undamaged, unused and in its original condition and packed carefully. Your return package also should include a note with your name, order number and email address. Once I have received your package, I will send you an email and if I am happy with its condition, a full refund will be processed and automatically applied to your card or your original payment method. Please be aware that I will only refund the purchase price of the yarn, you are responsible for the cost of return delivery. The yarn is legally yours until a refund is issued, so please keep in mind that it is your responsibility to ensure that I receive your postage. All yarn leaves my premises in perfect condition. However, if you have received a damaged package, please inform the courier/postman and refuse the package if necessary. I will offer a full refund/ replacement (if possible) for any damaged or faulty items, including postage.

If you have purchased a digital pattern, a download link will be emailed to you once payment has been received. If you have not received an email within 24hrs, please check your spam folder. Otherwise, please get in touch if you have any issues. Unfortunately, returns/ refunds cannot be offered on digital downloads.
