A bit late, but nonetheless...@tangledgalashiels, what can I say...I went home with a big smile on my face.
Thank you Samira @eildonhillsdesigns, for organising again such a friendly, warm and welcoming fibre festival.
And thank you to all the wonderful volunteers and helpers for making it so easy for us.
Thank you to lovely Harriet @harrietwildwoodstitches- it was a pleasure to share a stall with you.
My heart is full from all the wonderful conversations. Thank you to all of you who stopped by, chatted, showed me your finished projects and for purchasing some yarn 🥰.
The Nautilus Shawl Kits sold out (😳🥹🩵), but I am in the studio next week and will dye more. Thank you so much for all your love.
My website is up-to-date again. Some colours sold out but will be stocked up again soon. Just get in touch if you are interested in/ cannot see a particular one.

💫🐚 New pattern 🐚💫
The 'Nautilus Shawl' - no purl in sight -
The Nautilus Shawl is inspired by the Nautilus shell - nature's quiet masterpiece. Shimmering layers of turquoise and iridescent rainbow tones echo the shell's luminous shine. Like the nautilus itself, this shawl celebrates harmony, balance and endless movement.
Featuring garter stitches in DK weight yarn between the light lace yarn slip-stitches, it resembles the rainbow reflections of the nautilus shell and emerge and disappear as the light changes.
Its asymmetrical shape is designed with one end slightly wider and can be wrapped around the neck or drawn up as a soft hood when the air turns colder.
The shawl is worked with only knit and slip-stitches - no purl stitches at all - and you knit only with one colour at a time.
The pattern is available on Ravelry and Payhip now*.
I have prepared kits and will launch these at @tangledgalashiels this weekend. If there are some left, I will add them to the website afterwards (or dye more if needed).
Thank you Samira @eildonhillsdesigns for great technical editing.
*I added these ' quietly ' to Ravelry and Payhip to get QR codes for the pattern - a big thank you to some of you who already got in touch to reserve a kit.
You are the best 🙏💝
I have designed another shawl - again only with knit and slip stitches - as part of the ' no purl in sight' series and will launch this one soon (see image 5).

💫 New yarn base 💫
I am launching my new yarn base 'Eriskay' at @tangledgalashiels.
This is a @jarbontextiles base
- 100% non- superwash British wool
- 50% Falkland merino,
- 50% Bluefaced Leicester
- 4ply, 400m / 100g
Some colours are inspired by Bernat Klein, the theme of @tangledgalashiels this year.
I used this base also for my new design 'Playful Stitches Vest, which is published in the new issue (issue 9) of @thejournalofscottishyarns, which will also be launched at Tangled.
I very much enjoyed knitting with this base, and I am planning to use it again for another design. Susan and I will have the samples of the vests with us.
Only a week to go - hopefully see you on Friday 29th May and Saturday 30th May in the Volunteer Hall in Galashields? I will share a stall with lovely Harriet @harrietwildwoodstitches.
Tickets are still available.

💫 I am so happy to share that I am a vendor at @tangledgalashiels again.
I am sharing a stall with lovely Harriet @harrietwildwoodstitches and cannot wait 🥰. I have nearly finished the dyeing process, but there is still lots to do 🙏.
💫I will launch my new yarn base at Tangled: Eriskay.
* @jarbontextiles base
*100% British non- superwash yarn
*50% Falkland merino, 50% Bluefaced Leicester
*4ply, 400m/100g
I used the @jarbontextiles base for my new pattern 'Playful Stitches Vest', which is one of the patterns in the new issue (issue 9) of @thejournalofscottishyarns. This issue will also be launched at @tangledgalashiels and you can pre-order it from Susan now.
I will have the colours used for the vest with me and some more.
And I am also launching a new shawl pattern - more about this one soon.
Tickets are still available - it is such a wonderful, friendly festival with so much going on... hopefully see you there?

Finally....after some time off after @woollygoodedinburgh - I just wanted to thank you! Thank you for attending Woolly Good and thank you for purchasing some yarn and patterns from me. And thank you for finding me and saying 'hello'.
I cannot believe it is over for another year - I am still processing it all 🤣.
I am updating the website at the moment. Lots of colours sold out, but I am back in the studio next week and will slowly add them once they are ready.
I am also preparing for @tangledgalashiels - so my big website update will be after this. Thank you very much for your patience. If you are interested in a particular colour and you cannot find it online, please get in touch.

Last preparations for @woollygoodedinburgh.
Mini skein bundles 🥳. I will put together again 5×20g Luing mini skeins (4ply, non-superwash alpaca/cashmere/silk).
I have been twisting and twisting the last nights 😴🤣.
They were very popular and sold out at previous festivals. Putting different colour choices together is the fun part, which is the next task on my to-do-list.
Please note: As one of the @woollygoodedinburgh organisers, I won't be at my stall (maybe just occasionally), but @acmidgley and my two friends Petra & Sarah will be there 😁.
However, I will be around and hopefully see you 🥰. Not long now - cannot wait!

This is my Raasay base, my most luxurious yarn - 50% yak & 50% silk (4ply) in 50g skeins. And non-superwash (as all my bases are)!
One of my favourites. It is wonderfully soft, hypoallergenic and lanolin-free 😍 (for those who can't wear wool on the neck).
My Caledonian Pine Shawl (second photo) was designed using this base, so you can feel and see how this base knits up. I will have the sample on my stall at @woollygoodedinburgh (and all of my patterns will be 20% off over the weekend too 😏).
I love how the base takes up the dye. They are not easy to photograph and can be slightly difficult to see in full bloom in darker rooms, but I have some lights for my stall now, so hopefully, this will work.
Two weeks to go....there are still some tickets left.

I promised to share some of the yarn I will bring to @woollygoodedinburgh, so here comes the first peek:
My Gigha base (merino/silk, 4ply) in some variegated colours.
Dyeing variegated colours on non-superwash yarn is not easy, as it takes much longer for the yarn to take up the yarn and there is a risk that the dye just mixes and you will get a muted, sometimes non- definable (🫣🫤) colour. It took me a while to figure out how to do it - and I am always happy when they work 🙏.
Back to twisting and labelling more yarn now, but I will share some more pictures over the next days.
Woolly Good is in less than 3 weeks now - eeekkk 😍.

I thought I share a 360 degree view from my studio at @cockenziehouseandgardens22. It is a very special place for me. Even if I am very busy, I always make sure I go out for a coffee break (weather permitting 🌞), look for pebbles on the beach or take Yula for a walk.
There is also a brilliant cafe @cafefilly with yummy scones - very dangerous ☕️🥧🤣.
I only dye my yarn in the studio and store it at home, but I am always happy to see visitors and can make arrangements to bring some yarn in.
Maybe see you on day here?

Sorry for the silence...
Just plotting along.. @woollygoodedinburgh organisation with the amazing team is going well, and I also spend a lot of time in the studio at the moment. Another week of dyeing, and I hope I will have enough yarn to take with me to Woolly Good.
I will try to share more when I twist the yarns.
Tickets are selling very well. Are you coming?
